Local Area Information
Located in the heart of Mid Suffolk, recently voted the second best area in the United Kingdom to live, Eye, Debenham, Stradbroke and their surrounding villages have become very desirable places to live.
The thriving town of Eye, once the smallest borough in the country boasts the beautiful 14th century church of St Peters and Paul, castle ruins and many historic buildings. There are also a number of independent shops and eateries and many local walks. The town is also the home of the popular Eye Primary and Hartismere Academy Schools, the later with a 6th form centre, a health centre, sports facilities and a number of nurseries.
Less than 8 miles to the south is the historic village of Debenham which also boasts excellent schools and health and sports facilities. There are again many independent shops, eateries and two popular pubs.
Around 7 miles to the east of Eye and 10 miles to the north of Debenham, lies Stradbroke with its own schools, health and sports facilities, shops, eateries and pubs providing easy access to the coast.
Between these 3 main centres are many other popular Villages each with their own facilities including, Gislingham, Horham, Hoxne, Mellis, Occold, Thorndon, Thornham, and Yaxley.
With easy access to Norwich, Ipswich and London via the mainline railway stations of Diss and Stowmarket the area has become increasingly popular amongst locals and commuters alike.
A short drive to the east will take you to the popular coastal areas Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich whilst a similar drive westwards will take you to the Historic town of Bury St Edmunds, and the Constable Countryside of Flatford, Lavenham and Long Melford.
